Short Version: An uptempo late night ballad that addresses dreams in the night.
Long Version: For some reason this band has been calling me recently. I have played this song on my radio show three times in the past month. There is an urgency to it, as if she doesn't sing about the dreams, her nightmares will come true. All of us have had amazing dreams and night terrors. Both jar you from your real world for at least a little bit. One could venture out and say that she is scared to fall asleep again. I don't gather this from her lyrics, but from the nervousness in her voice as she amps it up.
Scanners is a band from England. This was off their first cd and they just released their latest in February. If you like this song check out "Low Life." It is a more cheery song that actually got me into them in the first place.
Also here is a proper youtube video for Tobacco. This is a different song that last week, but one that I feel is superior. Check out how the ending just gets out of hand with the air horns. I can't stop playing this song,,,,,LOUD!!!!
And here is a live version of Thee Oh Sees "Block of Ice." Not as crisp as the original, but at least you can listen to it. I apologize for last week's circus on trying to get a song played. I hope this makes up for it. Next week's blog will be delayed as I will be filming my big scene as an extra in the movie "A Box For Rob" in Charlotte. More to come on that,,,,,,
