Empire of the Sun "Walking on a Dream"

Short Version: Glammed out Australian pop.

Long Version:  It is that time of year where I am on the road quite a bit.  Last week was absent of a post and next week will be as well.  Reason being is that I will be at the Polo Fields in Indio California for the 2011 Coachella Festival.  To me it equals the excitement that children get around the Christmas holiday.  The only time I missed it since 2004 was b/c I was in Namibia riding my bike amongst the sand dunes.  A full review of the event will come in the next posting.

This week's feature will be performing at Coachella this Friday.  Empire of the Sun features Luke Steel (formerly of the underrated Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore.  They make clean and accessible indie pop music.  Luke's voice is unmistakeable and that is his strongsuit.  The Asian/Star Wars inspired video only adds to the band's uniqueness.  My first Coachella in 2004 granted me the opportunity to see Sleepy Jackson live and it was a memorable show.  As a bonus for my absences I have added "Vampire Racecourse" below.  Enjoy the spring weather and I'll be back in a few weeks.
