Long Version: It is hot out. Where I am and everywhere else in this country. So why not play a song with an appropriate title. Whenever I hear this song I think of 50 year olds living in an upscale condo complex, drinking their medicine down on the patio by the intercoastal waterway. Seagulls are croaking in the background, and this song is the soundtrack to it all. Now that of course sounds lame and quite a poor selling point for this song. But it is the song I will put on if I ever end up in a living situation like that. I think it is a tiny place called,,,what is it? Oh right,,,HELL.
The Style Council was led by former singer of The Jam, Paul Weller. They formed in 1983 in England and had a decent career in the 80's, mainly outside the US. "Long Hot Summer" didn't even make the top 40 chart here, but it did get all the way to #3 in the UK. So throw this on, get a pina colada and enjoy the global warming.
