Soundgarden "Rusty Cage"

Short Version: The fury of Seattle circa 1991, not named Nirvana or Pearl Jam.

Long Version:  So I was perusing the concert database site, pollstar.com to see the wealth of options available to me in DC each night, when I was surprised to see a listing for a dream show!  Soundgarden with Mars Volta as their opening act.  Are you kidding me?  Soundgarden was an important band for me in my teens.
It all began when I got a new 10 disc cd changer installed in the trunk of my mid-80s Mercury Sable.  Due to a limited time offer, this new purchase came with 10 free cds from the Columbia House music club.  BONUS!  The cds I ordered included Creedence Clearwater Revival's Greatest Hits, Lyrnrd Skynrd's Greatest Hits, Steve Miller Band Greatest Hits and some more classic rock mainstays.  But Badmotorfinger from Soundgarden was the edgier pick of the lot.  It was the first cd I wanted to test in my system once it arrived.  Song 1?  Rusty Cage.  The beginning of the song is catchy and makes you want to keep listening.  Then it just lays into the rest of the track with its aggression.
Chris Cornell is one of the faces of Seattle grunge in the early 1990's along with Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder.  He would be on Seattle's Mount Rushmore.  This song still remains on my workout playlist and will be the one song I anticipate most when they play tomorrow night.  Should I wear flannel tomorrow in honor of days gone by?  It would be a nice retro touch, but the high tomorrow is supposed to be 100 degrees.  Maybe that will be a gametime decision.  Soundgarden might not make it after this tour so seeing them now as an entire group is something that must be acted upon in a swift manner.  Same goes if you want to see Stone Temple Pilots or Wu Tang Clan. (ODB RIP)
And Mars Volta?  Their song "Goliath" was one of the original posts on YoBigBro site #1.  If you want a monster of a song, then listen to that one.  Finally I want to comment on the video.  Is it not just so 1990s bad ass?  The band getting chased through the woods by hill jacks and a menacing black pickup?  Don't these wood hicks know that they stand no chance against the power of ROCK?
