Cass McCombs "County Line"

Short Version: Slow burning summer jam for drinking lemonade to on your front porch at dusk.

Long Version: This past weekend I traveled to the Midwest. From the airport I looked forward to a two hour drive through across land covered in corn fields. My sole requirement for cars I rent is that they include an auxiliary jack for my ipod. With this luxury option I put to use the playlist of songs I have downloaded in the past few months that I haven't listened to yet. This drive would determine which songs I kept and which would be lost to the delete button. One of the nice results of doing this includes discovering amazing tracks. I found about four songs that are YoBigBro worthy. Yet this song made the final cut.
Cass McCombs is a California boy who has done his share of road trips across the nation. That is evident from his history of living on both coasts and images from the video below. When this tune came on during my drive, I about chalked it up for the trash bin, but something about it grabbed me. It feels like an old Jackson Brown song from the late 70's. The organ in the background, mixed with the vocals confirm this. Playing on an AM station would only add character to the track. If you want to slow dance to your honey in the kitchen tonight before dinner, try doing it to "County Line."
