St. Vincent "Surgeon"
Short Version: New stunner from my favorite musical Brooklynite.
Long Version: Ahh, Annie. You keep getting better and better. Your first release was solid. Your second outing was a classic with one of my favorite songs of all time and the first post ever on YoBigBro v1.0 ("Just the Same But Brand New"). Now we are all blessed with a sneak peak at your upcoming October release. It is as if you are now working on your PHD. Everything is just smarter and wiser. I just listened to this for the first time yesterday and have kept it on repeat today. I am actually heading to Brooklyn tomorrow and will know that her presence is near. How joyous! Her voice has such yearning in it. You can tell when she is pushing it a little too much. It is vulnerable and could potentially be hard to replicate live, but oh the joy of hearing it at all. And then, the funk breakdown for the last minute! WTF! Glorious! Has she been hanging out with My Morning Jacket? This will be a great sendoff live! It might/should be her show closer. Annie, my ears have a crush on you. They will enjoy this song to its potential and eagerly await what you have in store. With love,,,
Note on Amy Winehouse: It is a shame that Amy passed away yesterday. I cannot say I am surprised, but I was cheering for her to have an amazing follow up to her first major release "Back in Black." I was always partial to the lost love track"Wake Up Alone." I was fortunate enough to see her live at Coachella a few years ago. She was very skinny then, but she could really translate her voice in a live arena. She kept getting red plastic cups handed to her and she got more slurry as the show went on during her between song banter. Her voice never faltered when she was singing though. R.I.P. Amy.

She's a cutie but not as cute as your real girlfriend.
